EMB Group is a forward-thinking, growing business with a public-sector client base.

Although were a small business, were a big hitter and work for Government Departments and their agencies, supporting them with research, transaction processing, and programme delivery.

We are currently looking for a skills adviser to work on a subcontracted basis within the Lincolnshire area.

The role will include proactively engaging with employers and support them with their organisational development and growth via access to high quality skills solutions including, but not limited to, apprenticeships.

Work alongside Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) Adult Skills leads supporting the delivery of the local Adult Skills strategy.

We are looking for someone to undertake the following tasks:

  • Identify and proactively contact SMES and larger employers to discuss their skills requirements and potential for apprenticeships for either existing or new members of staff.
  • In a proactive way follow up any leads generated by referral, marketing campaigns, call centre information requests, web downloads, telemarketing and events.
  • Use a range of diagnostic techniques to undertake an analysis of clients skills needs, prioritise key skills needs and show how meeting these will add value to the business, particularly via the apprenticeship route.
  • Create appropriate skills development plans that are tailored to the needs of individual employers.
  • Proactively network with learning providers to understand available solutions.
  • Provide handholding support to those SMEs that take up Apprenticeship opportunities, including liaising with local training providers, providing guidance regarding workplace development, apprenticeship reviews and End Point Assessment.
  • Share knowledge with and work alongside the Growth Hub Adviser team, supporting delivery of any apprenticeship skills recommendations made by the GHAs.
  • Liaise with skills colleagues in LCCs Adult Skills Team supporting their objectives.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining a current knowledge of support programmes and business issues e.g. legislative, economic and technological to ensure effectiveness in advising clients and when making referrals.
  • Record all interactions on the client management system and liaise with the Area Manager to ensure that the project meets requirements.
  • The post will work between LCCs Adult Skills and Growth Hub Service maximising knowledge and contacts available.
    Key Performance Indicators
  • Number of interactions with employers (minimum of 80 per annum)
  • Number of skills development plans created (minimum of 40 per annum)
  • Number of new apprenticeships created and filled (minimum of 50 per annum)
  • Number of skills outcomes delivered e.g. new apprenticeship, engagement with Multiply, training solution adopted etc (minimum of 60 per annum)

A bit about you.
You will need to have knowledge of Apprenticeship training providers, funding, and training rules.

This role needs someone who is an excellent communicator with a keen eye for detail. You will have a can-do attitude and the ability to manage priorities effectively and efficiently.

You will be able to convey information professionally, accurately, and clearly, as well as demonstrate presentation and report-writing skills. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to negotiate and influence individuals and groups.

You will be required to travel in this role as you will be meeting businesses across Lincolnshire.

The role is part time, working between 10 to 12 days a month. Work can be flexed around caring such as childcare or eldercare responsibilities.
