Cleaning Operative (2x Positions Available)


Location:
Kendal Nursery, Queens Road, Kendal, Cumbria LA9 4PH


Hours:


Position 1

7Hrs 45 Mins per week

Mon-Wed-Fri, 17:00 - 18:45

Tue-Thu, 17:00 - 18:30

Position 2

10 Hours per Week

Mon-Fri, 17:00 - 19:00

Rate of Pay:
£10.47 per hour


PURPOSE OF ROLE:


To deliver a high standard cleaning service for our customers, ensuring that areas are hygienic and clean for people to use.

To be the key point of contact between the site cleaning team and the supervisor. To be a responsible key-holder. To always operate in a safe manner, observing company health and safety policies and guidelines.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


Cleaning and Standards

  • To be a key holder for the premises, locking or unlocking as required, always ensuring the safety and security of the premises
  • Cleaning, stocking and supplying designated areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.)
  • Ensure that cleaning tasks are undertaken in accordance with the contract
  • To be punctual with your timekeeping; operating a quick and efficient cleaning service without compromising on quality of the service delivered
  • Ensure uniforms are worn at all times on site; displaying a professional image of our company
  • Report any problems or broken equipment to the supervisor as soon as possible
  • Complete and maintain relevant records, ensuring accuracy of completed documents
  • Monitor and advise on stock usage, and order where relevant
  • Ensure that cleaning equipment (and designated storage areas) are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe condition
  • Undertake training as necessary to maintain the requirements of the contract

Customer Service and Teamwork

  • Act as a 'hands on' lead and frontline supervisor to enable the cleaning team to deliver a highquality service, and be the point of contact between the team and the supervisor
  • To display a positive attitude to your work and be a proactive member of the team
  • Build and maintain good relationships with colleagues and customers

Health, Safety and Environment

  • Act responsibly in relation to all matters which may affect the Health and Safety of yourselves and others whilst on Company premises, customers' premises and travelling between sites, and to adhere to safety regulations at all times
  • Observe all safety procedures and instructions and assist in maintaining a safe workplace and reporting any accidents, hazards, near misses, damages or defects to tools and equipment to the appropriate person
  • Wear appropriate protective equipment (PPE) and use any safety devices provided by the company at the relevant times
  • Only use equipment you've been trained to use

Essential:
Cleaning experience (1+ years)

Team leader / supervisor experience (1+ years)
