This fast paced and rewarding role sits within our Supplier Escalations and Disputes Team, which supports a wide range of stakeholders and business needs.

We are a small, friendly and diverse team based across the UK with responsibility for dealing with Supplier Disputes.

These can either be claims from suppliers disputing outstanding payments, or they can be claims that UKHSA has against suppliers, for example over-charging or failure to deliver a product or service to the correct standard.


In this exciting role, the job holder will support the senior team in resolving high profile, high value disputes, reducing the amount of costs incurred by HM Treasury (HMT) and recovering sums owed from suppliers who have caused damages.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is responsible for protecting every member of every community from the impact of infectious diseases, chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear incidents and other health threats.

This role sits within UKHSA's award winning Commercial Directorate, which played a critical role during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dispute management:


  • Responsibility for establishing the key facts surrounding small supplier disputes.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders including Operations, Commercial, Finance, and Legal.
  • Obtain all records relevant for the case.
  • Establish a detailed timeline of events leading up to the dispute.
  • Work with the senior disputes team to contribute to a strategy to deal with the dispute and agree next steps with the internal stakeholder group.

Process, Policy and Risk Management:


  • Maintain comprehensive audit trails for all documentation with support from the team.
  • Contribute to monthly reports.

Essential Criteria:


  • The ability to build strong working relationships and experience of working with a range of stakeholders to deliver objectives.
  • Demonstrable research and analysis skills.
  • Demonstratable reporting skills, including creating regular insight packs alongside broader reporting methods.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package.
