What you'll do

In your new role, you'll lead the development of a strong valuation control framework across the bank, identifying best practice for fair valuation, reserving, and accounting issues currently implemented across the financial services industry.


You'll also be:

  • Developing responses to accounting practices and policy changes
  • Contributing to setting our accounting policies and maintaining our organisational accounting manual
  • Providing lucid written and oral advice on the financial reporting and fair valuation issues
  • Querying and advising on fair value aspects of complex transactions

The skills you'll need

As accounting best practice and regulatory changes are at the heart of this role, ideally you'll have a professional accounting qualification and substantial post-qualification experience in an accounting advisory role for an international financial servicescompany, or established accounting firm.

You'll also have a strong understanding of traded markets.

You'll also need:

  • Expert knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate issues
  • Strong stakeholder skills with the ability to nurture key relationships
