Job Title - Case WorkerSalary £23,600 - £25,000 per annum
Location - Cardiff
As a Case Worker you will offer gender-responsive, trauma informed practical and emotional support and interventions to address needs with housing, substance misuse, health, finance, previous trauma, children & families and education, training, and employment with the aim of reducing social harms and re-offending whilst empowering women to access opportunities to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities include:
- Hold a caseload of women accessing the service released from HMP
- Work in collaboration with referring organisations including the Probation Service and HMP
- Provide 1:1 practical and emotional support to women
- Facilitate group interventions for women as agreed
- Undertake a comprehensive assessment with each woman to identify needs to produce a collaborative strengthbased action plan
- Work collaboratively with women based on individual need with the aim of increasing life opportunities and promoting personal change
- Work with partner organisations and assist women to access support services in response to need
- Attend multiagency meetings where appropriate and to act as an advocate within prescribed protocols
- Develop relationships with partner organisations
- To work with management and colleagues developing and supporting new initiatives and developments.
- To work within the organisation's operational policies and overall philosophy.
- To compile data and complete all documentation that pertains to the range of duties associated with this role.
- To effectively communicate the benefits and values of Safer Wales to other agencies and individuals.
- To work fully within all the expectations of Safer Wales with specific regard for equality and diversity.
- To submit verbal or written reports when requested by management.
- To provide support in the absence of other team members and to work with a team base multiagency ethos
Essential Experience Required:
- Relevant experience of working with women (paid or voluntary).
- Experience of assessment and planning programmes of care.
- Experience of supporting people in crisis.
- Experience of liaising and working collaboratively with other agencies.
- Knowledge of range of interventions specific to women.
- Ability to work with service users and colleagues in a nonjudgemental manner.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
- IT skills.

- Full driving licence and access to own transport.
