An opportunity has arisen within the School of Dentistry for a Lecturer in Dental Technology to support the teaching of Dental Technology within the BDS, Clinical Dental Technology and our postgraduate degree programmes.

This post comes with the opportunity to complete training in clinical dental technology as a student on our part time course.

Training in clinical dental technology will take place on two days per week with the remaining three days spent on teaching and wider university activities.

The successful applicant must be a qualified and experienced Dental Technician, registered with the General Dental Council. The role will involve lecturing and the teaching of Dental Technology theory and skills.


The successful applicants will also be expected to contribute to the wider activities of the School and University in teaching, learning, assessment, research and income generation.

Teaching experience (ideally in Higher Education) is essential as is a first degree. A teaching qualification (or willingness to undertake University PGCE on appointment) is desirable.

Applicants must meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based on the UCLan main campus in Preston.
