Are you an experienced operator, who holds a current Counterbalance FLT License?_

Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for
Furnace Operators, working for a highly reputable client based in
West Auckland. Working on a 3-shift pattern (7-3, Days, 3-11 Afternoons, 11-7 Nights), Monday to Friday (this may vary).


Furnace Operators Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Reporting to Shift Leader.
  • Responsible for running 2 conventional furnaces and the grinding system. Responsible for grains and furnace quality.
  • Carrying out preuse checks on equipment and machinery.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping on site.
  • Problem solving and dealing with issues on daytoday basis.
  • Must be able to deal with pressure and demands of the role.
  • Completing Furnace reports on a daily basis.
  • Hands on running of our furnace plant, ensuring all Quality and Safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Continuous focus on furnace efficiency and quality.
  • Completing Glass gradation checks and interpreting information.
  • Carrying out rotex maintenance.
  • Complete regular handovers with other Furnace Operators.
  • Complete frequent equipment and machinery preuse or routine checks.
  • Flexible and willing to work in _all roles_ on site.
  • Willing and able to cover the Shift Leader during absence.

Furnace Operator Applicants:


  • Must hold current counterbalance forklift licence.
  • Experience of operating a frontloading shovel preferred but not essential.
  • Preferred 3 years' experience running a batch processing plant or similar environment.
  • Good organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computing skills including proficient in Microsoft Office e.g., Outlook, excel,
  • Good problemsolving skills.
  • Proactive and ability to work on their own.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Hardworking and driven with focus on continual improvement.
  • Flexible.
  • Ability to cope effectively under pressure.
  • Good time management and organisation skills.
  • Good sickness, timekeeping, and disciplinary record.
  • Healthy and physically fit.

This is a temp to perm position, with an hourly rate of £13.44. Working a 40-hour week.
