- To provide resilience to other Senior Technical Engineers by offering the resources necessary to support daytoday operations as well as projectled activity.

The ICT Senior Engineer - Networks supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of South Wales Police's network infrastructure.
The ICT Senior Engineer - Networks will provide the technical resources necessary to support business continuityfor a 24/7 emergency policing service and its external partners.
Description
- To maintain the network architecture of our inhouse datacentres.
- To assist with the development and maintenance and overall reliability of our switching and routing platform (Cisco).
- To ensure the reliability of our High Availability clusters and services.
- To manage the performance of major routing protocols such as EIGRP and OSPF.
- To help with the development, maintenance of Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, and Cisco ISE.
- To conduct meticulous network capacity planning and support the rollout of upgrades and improvements across LAN / WLAN / WAN / Wi-Fi / MPLS / SD-Access and Data Centre

- ICT Network infrastructure
- ICT Datacentre Interconnectivity,
- ICT Communication and Routing Protocol
- ICT Wired and Wireless
- ICT Network Platforms, Systems and Software
- ICT Network and Voice Protocols
- ICT Operations Management
- ICT Cyber Security management
Profile
- Cisco Certified
- Demonstratable equivalent skills or experience in networking
- Must have experience of designing, installing, and managing an onpremise network infrastructure including layer 2 and 3 switching and routing.
- Must have experience of managing network security hardware and software, including firewalls and network intrusion detection systems.
- Must demonstrate indepth understanding of datacentre network architectures, ICT disaster recovery strategies, and LAN / WLAN / WAN / Wi-Fi / MPLS / SD-Access networking technologies.
