Here at Tops Day Nurseries we have an outstanding reputation in delivering the best quality eco-sustainable childcare across the South-West.

We operate nurseries and play clubs across Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset, Wiltshire and Devon.

We are currently recruiting for 2 Casual Painters and Decorators to join Tops Day Nurseries in the Plymouth area. This position is Weekends only (Saturday and Sunday preferences) on a zero-hour contract. We offer flexible working hours (e.g., working 12 hours shift in one day or split across the two days).

Hours will be varied based of the volume of work required and all must tasks completed before moving onto the next.

We currently have 5 nurseries in the Plymouth area which are relatively good distance of travel and easy to get to.

Additional nurseries in Babbacombe and Taunton area available if you are willing to travel a bit further. Travel expense for business use purposes will be paid.

Your Duties/Responsibilities will include:

To complete the painting and decorating of the all the settings in your region
Communicate with the Regional Maintenance Manager, or in their absence, Director of Facilities, to ensure that work is done within an agreed budget for each individual site.
Liaise with the nursery manager and regional manager to ensure that all premises and any equipment made is maintained appropriately to the needs of the children and staff.
Proactively checking sites for repairs and upgrades and advising said items to the Regional Maintenance Manager, or in their absence, Director of Facilities, for inclusion in repairs and upgrades lists on company web as appropriate.
Liaising with the Regional Maintenance Manager, or in their absence, Director of Facilities, in order to appropriately prioritise which sites are needing work most urgently and acting accordingly.

Essential skills / qualifications

Knowledge and experience of Painting and Decorating
Qualifications in Painting and Decorating desirable
Willing to gain further qualifications, such as health and safety and manual handling.
Full clean driving licence and own transport
Need a clear and valid DBS
