Days of work:5 out of 7 days evening work required & Occasional weekends**
Hours per week:37 over 7 days**
Place of Work:Beverley County Hall, Home, and Locality Based Working**This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Active Communities Team, part of the Health and Wellbeing Group.


In particular, this role will have a key focus on the community build programme, supporting the team to connect with communities and promote the work we do.

The key skills required include being a good communicator with the ability to engage with partners, community groups and attend strategic meetings; a creative edge to provide marketing support for the team and its programmes; the ability to produce reports and take minutes for both internal and external audience's; an eye for data when conducting asset mapping exercises, working on various spreadsheets, and supporting community consultations.


This team is passionate about reaching out to the community and working with them to develop and promote opportunities, create connections, and enable people to shape their own lives and place.

One of the ways we are working includes 'Asset Based Community Development', strengths-based, allowing the work to emerge from the people and to facilitate rather than drive.


This vital work supports strengthening our communities and making the East Riding a happier healthy place to live and be active.


We are looking for someone who will have:

  • Experience of IT systems and computer packages
  • Experience of working with a range of private/voluntary/statutory organisations
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, producing reports, minutes & briefings, for both internal and external audiences
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal and written and good telephone manner
  • A flexible, enthusiastic, 'can do' approach and the ability to deliver a diverse work programme
  • Experience of Community Development and/or Engagement work
  • Able to work on own initiative and selfmanage workload
  • Experience of planning and implementing work programmes
  • Experience in marketing and using social media channels
  • Must have a UK driving licence and access to a car
