What you'll be doing
As a Buyer, you will have the following accountabilities:
- Awareness of our Group Suppliers and preferred supply chain for materials.
- Market analysis/intelligence analysis of data, business presentation, including tender analysis and making recommendations.
- Selection of suppliers
- Business/Project based comparison (commercial/operational) to generate shortlist and recommendation in accordance with business governance and project requirements.
- Negotiation of terms & prices against targets conclude terms/SLA and report saving/loss on project by project/business basis
- Establish long term supplier / supply chain relationships focusing on value for money, service & product quality and continuous improvement to drive competitive advantage for Balfour Beatty.
- Manage supplier performance using eProcurement portal for projects/ contracts. Escalate any ongoing problems.
- Develop and analyse procurement management information, including spend reports; prepare/populate monthly dashboards, to improve business intelligence and inform procurement decisions and business plans made at all levels within the organisation.
- Build and maintain strong engagement relationships with internal stakeholders and the supply chain.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- Previous experience within a procurement function
- Knowledge of procurement programmes and financial targets
- Good negotiating skills
- Experience with subcontractor procurement
- CIPS desirable
