Description

We are looking for a qualified Digital Skills tutor to join our thriving team to help us provide an engaging and relevant programme to the diverse group of learners who use the York Learning Adult Education service.

We work with anyone from absolute beginners in digital skills up to and including accredited Level Three provision and offer a wide range of both accredited and non-accredited programmes to our learners.

You should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the breadth of digital skills that the learners of York and the surrounding area require.

Ideally you have experience delivering digital skills in an adult and community setting or have previous teaching experience elsewhere.

Strong inter-personal qualities are essential to this post as well as excellent recording and administration skills to meet specific funding, exam board, and programme requirements.

You have either Level 2/3 ICDL or are willing to achieve it quickly, you are familiar with things like the Microsoft Office package and you either bring experience in other areas such as coding, computer aided design or indeed another area you believe our current offer is lacking which would make a difference to the employment prospects of the people of York.

Access to transport is extremely helpful as our delivery can be across multiple venues in one day as we work in a variety of community settings.

The role is for 2.5 days/week with the potential of additional hours on a pro-rata claiming basis.

We are inclusive, we believe that you are never too old to learn, we are passionate about helping people gain skills for employment and confidence with digital skills.

We want to make York Learning's digital and business delivery the best it can possibly be. Join us

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role.

Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.

The Council is committed to investing in the talent and wellbeing of our staff and can offer a generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, comprehensive Health & Wellbeing initiatives and a reward package which recognises your contribution.

We can offer flexible working practices, community engagement and volunteer activities and, as part of our commitment to you, promote continuous Learning & Development.

In addition we also offer a growing range of discounts, rewards and savings.
