Applications are invited for the position of Consultant Anaesthetist to join the existing team of 66 Consultant Anaesthetists. This is a new post to accommodate increase in theatre activity. The post has a minimum of 10 PAs with at least 1.5 as SPA.


Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is a University Teaching Hospital with 1293 beds and an annual budget of around £500 million.

The Trust supports a variety of tertiary services and is both a Major Cancer Centre and accredited tertiary trauma centre.


The package includes recruitment and retention premia of £20,000 which will be paid in 2 equal instalments of £ 10,000 each.

The first instalment of £10000 will be paid in the 13th Month salary and the second instalment will be paid in the 25th month salary after commencement of the post.

There is also up to £8000 relocation allowance on provision of the relevant expense receipts.


The Consultant Anaesthetist will provide Anaesthetic services with sessions in Pre-assessment, Upper GI and flexibly in other theatre areas in the Trust.

The post holder will also provide 1 in 18 on call cover for CEPOD Theatres in Hull Royal Infirmary
