Our client is a not-for-profit organisation that works within a number of areas to improve society, such as Justice, Education, and Employment.

They deliver an important contract that aims to help offenders to re-integrate back into society and stop them fromre-offending.

Working as part of a network of providers, your role will be to work with vulnerable former prisoners to help them achieve training, education, or employment opportunities.

You will be based in a community environment (within the probation office) and therefore you will need to be confident, resillient and engaging.

You will meet with your clients, and after assessing their situation, put in place milestones for them to move towards employment or education.

You will assist them with developing an employment support plan that will include training courses and breakingdown their barriers to employment.

Taking on board their personal situation and needs, you may also refer them to partner support providers as needed (i.e. substance misuse, mental health or specific mentoring).

Some experience of working with offenders is essential for this position but it can be either paid or voluntary experience.

Experience within a prison or probation setting is highly desirable.
Previous successful applicants have been Criminology Graduates (with some experience), Probation Officers, Prison Officers, Employment Advisors or Housing specialists.
