Job -Deputy Superintendent Radiographer


Location - London Bridge Hospital - Old Broad Street & Docklands Healthcare sites


Hospital Contract Type - Permanent, full time at 37.5 hours per week


Salary - Competitive (dependent on skills & experience). This position is equivalent to an NHS band 7 radiographer.


As a Deputy Superintendent Radiographer, you will work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the MRI and General Radiology departments across two sites.

You will cultivate excellent technical competence and uphold world-class patient care.


Duties and Responsibilities**The successful post holder will:
  • Demonstrate highly developed knowledge and skills in a broad range of MRI and general radiography investigations, as well as a working knowledge in other modalities as part of helping the Superintendents oversee their departments;
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Radiation Protection and MRI safety of all staff and patients, in compliance with Ionising Radiation Regulations, Health and Safety at Work Act, IR(ME)R and COSHH Regulations;
  • Support the Superintendents of each site in the day to day running of the department, administration, business strategy, staff rostering, diary management, training, equipment procurement and maintenance;
  • Attend the Imaging SMT meetings monthly and other meetings as required;
  • Taking the lead during the absence of the Superintendents.
  • Be a liaison with radiographers, consultants and colleagues from other sites within the London Bridge Hospital campus.
  • Maintaining quality of standards through promoting HCA's Mission and Values, the HCPC Code of Professional Conduct, HCA Policies and Protocols, and HCA Radiation Policies & Procedures;
  • Prepare all radiology equipment daily, ensuring all checks and ancillary responsibilities are carried out, and all documentation is logged correctly;
  • Uphold patient care to an excellent standard.

Skills and Experience

  • BSc, DCR or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography;
  • HCPC registered;
  • MRI experience required;
  • General Radiography experience;
  • Experience with list schedule management amongst sites & radiologists regarding different modalities such as MRI & mammography
  • Experience with the use of Siemens systems desirable.
