Junior Animal Technician - London, United Kingdom - London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
Description
We are seeking to appoint a Junior Animal Technician to work in the School's animal facility.Working under supervision, the post holder will be involved in the general husbandry of animals including feeding, watering and carrying out routine procedures to ensure the hygiene of animal accommodation as well as the general upkeep of the facility.
This is a physically demanding role with some repetitive moving as well as lifting, carrying and manual dexterityOther duties include:
- Delivering environmental enrichment to the animals
- Handling animals and assisting with procedures
- Maintaining accurate records
The successful applicant must have a proven interest in working with animals, GCSE or equivalent in Maths English and Science, experience in following instructions accurately, ability to work as a member of a team, ability to complete work tasks to deadlines and to a specified standard.
