Job Role


To ensure that the company is compliant with its statutory duties relating to the participation of looked after children and care leavers.

To ensure that the looked after children and care leavers access a wide range of social and educational opportunities.


To ensure that care plans for individual looked after children and care leavers take full regard of their wishes and feelings.


To ensure the Council has a thriving and influential Children in Care Council in line with statutory requirements and best practice.


To ensure that looked after children and care leavers are represented on the statutory Corporate Parenting Board and that all elected members and council departments fulfil their Corporate Parenting responsibilities.

To meet with LAC to hear the child's voice before their LAC review.

To mentor LAC.
