Band 5 £30,229 - £37,664 per annum

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,279

37.5 hours per week

Permanent Contract


The Health and Safety Team are looking for an enthusiastic Health and Safety Advisor / Trainer to join NHS Western Isles Health and Safety Team.

You will make a real difference to the quality, safety and experience of both patients and staff, and to ensure that our organisation is equipped to meet legislative and best practice requirements in Health and Safety across NHS Western Isles.


This is an excellent opportunity to develop your organisational and training skills as you will be involved in the full range of activities from writing policies and delivering moving & handling and violence & aggression training, conducting risk assessments, ligature assessments, preparing reports, DSE Assessments, and conducting walk rounds /audits.


You will contribute to the day to day running of the team by reviewing the incident management system and providing advice and support where required to those involved.

An engaging and positive approach is required to raise awareness and engagement in Health and Safety issues throughout the organisation.


The successful post holder will ideally have experience of Health and Safety within a health / social care setting and good communication and presentation skills are essential, and a working knowledge of IT including word processing, databases and presentation software an advantage.

**The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).

This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
