Description

We are looking for an Administrative assistant to join our friendly team at Broomfield Hospital who can work well within the team and also on their own initiative.

You will require excellent communication and customer service skills and be reliable to work well under pressure.

You will provide a professional, confidential and effective typing and administrative support service to the Medical Secretary, Surgical Registrars.

Ensure all patient correspondence relating to out-patient clinics/in-patient admissions is produced accurately and sent out within agreed timescales.

Respond promptly and effectively and appropriately to telephone and personal enquiries from internal stakeholders.

Deal with all correspondence appropriately and safely using local and Trust policy (GDPR).

Manage the administration of all external referrals within the RTT time frames.

Manage the administration of all consultant to consultant clinical referrals within published timescales.

Manage own workload/plan and organise own time/ act independently

To ensure that efficient office and filing systems are maintained (both manual and electronic) so that information is kept up to date, approximately indexed and accessible.


Ensure regular filing of copy letters other relevant correspondence either electronically or in case notes, in accordance with the Health Records Policy, to ensure that all notes are kept complete.

Prioritise workload and complete within prescribed timescales.

Work as an effective team member and on own initiative.
