Avanti Personnel are currently recruiting an experienced manufacturing team leader to join a well established and ever growing business based in Newton Aycliffe.
Your role will be to assist teams to manufacture a range of products that meet customers delivery and quality standards.
Liaising with senior operators and management to ensure deadlines are met in a productive and efficient manner alongside providing training in line with best working practices.
Key Responsibilities:
General and Task Management:
- Drive team and support in producing products on time to customer expected quality.
- Adhere to all Environmental, safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Provide training and expertise to new starters and current operators, to build flexible, knowledgeable teams.
- Actively drive and contribute to the improvement of 5s, SMED and other lean activities.
- Liaise with supply chain and suppliers to ensure smooth Kan bans of materials are held.
- Proactively encourage, influence, and assist the supervisor in the development of the team.
- Be the primary focal point for communication to the team and area of responsibility.
- Able to perform maintenance tasks such as change overs on machines and work to PPM plans.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Good standard of English and maths.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
- MS office and database experience desirable.
- Practical and dextrous approach to problem solving.
- Understanding of lean and continuous improvement techniques.
Salary:
£12.50-£13.50 per hour
