Solicitor
Job Purpose
To manage and progress claims in accordance with appropriate strategies to secure desired outcomes for clients at appropriate levels of profitability.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain key and new client relationships, including attendance at appropriate client meetings
- Assist in increasing the profile of Keoghs NI in the marketplace (which may include the production of marketing information including articles/blogs, delivering training/seminars etc)
- Handling own mixed caseload within agreed performance metrics (chargeable hours and billing)
- Assist development of key strategies to combat opponent behaviours.
- Undertaking periodic reviews of files in line with Client requirements and Lexcel standards
- Updating reports
- Instructing Counsel / Experts where appropriate
- Meeting agreed performance targets
- Ensuring files are kept within ISO 9001 guidelines
- To ensure compliance with the LSNI guidelines
- Adhere to the Keoghs Values
Working Hours
35 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills and Attributes:
Essential
- Previous experience in litigated defendant insurance work
- An ability to prioritise workload & strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with case management systems
- Team player
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent forensic skills
- Effective negotiator
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently, keeping to strategy but flexible enough to adapt to change
