An opportunity to join Liverpool Women's Community Midwifery team. Caring for a caseload of women providing antenatal and postnatal care in the community. This role will be primarily in the community setting for approx. 12 months with a plan to phase into continuity of care model.


Liverpool Community midwife teams work in a named midwife model caring for women in GP practices, community hubs and at home.

Each team is supported by Maternity support workers, Team Leader and a Matron. Staff are encouraged to work flexibly around their caseload of women. Each member of staff are provided with equipment to provide care required including digital technology.

Our community midwives are a passionate group of staff, who endeavour to provide excellent care. You will be well supported within these teams.

Liverpool Women's Hospital NHS Trust is looking for motivated and enthusiastic midwives to join our Maternity Services Team.

This is an exciting time to join the trust as we work with the recommendations from the Better Births report and developing our Continuity of Carer teams.

Therefore this role will include working night shifts and weekends, and providing on call provision for your given caseload

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES

  • Is able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate midwifery care, using a holistic and innovative approach to practice. Is the named midwife and takes responsibility for providing safe and continuous delivery of care to their client group when on duty.
  • Responsible for maintaining midwifery competencies by acquiring and consolidating the requisite knowledge and skills necessary for safe midwifery
  • Accepts responsibility for personal, professional development and education needs, including the attendance of inservice mandatory training and statutory study
  • Participates in hospital audit and research programme in order to develop innovative
  • Demonstrate an ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively by prioritising
  • Maintain clinical skills and theoretical
  • Provide a high standard of verbal and written communication with colleagues and Communicate in a professional and confidential manner at all times.
  • Acts as mentor to qualified staff and student midwives/ nurses and facilitates the creation of a learning environment. Supervises junior staff and teaches qualified and unqualified
