Example responsibilities:

Development of designs, reports, specifications, budgets and equipment schedules in line with RIBA Stages
Defining the relevant network technologies to meet the client business, operational and performance requirements
Identify the network services that the customer requires to be deployed, e.g. LAN, WLAN.
Define and detail how each technology will be used, who will be the main users, the expected number of users or specific user groups and any other specific requirements that will drive the configuration of each systems design.
Capacity planning for network configurations and network sizing and WLAN signal coverage requirements.

Example Technical Skills:

Knowledge of Local Area Network; traditional vs. fabric architectures, software defined networking, IPv4 & IPv6 design, IP multicast design, interior & exterior gateway protocol design (e.g. routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), macro & micro networksegmentation (e.g. VRFs, VLANs, policy based access), QoS Schemas, network automation/orchestration & programmability, network management & monitoring.
Good understanding of Wide Area Network; e.g. MPLS, SD-WAN, Public Cloud Integration (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP), Internet & Perimeter solutions.
Wireless Technologies; 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) and previous standards (IEEE802.11a/b/g/n/ac) and emerging standards, segregation of wireless services (e.g. corporate SSIDs vs. guest & visitor access), RF coverage/interference/capacity planning & design, wirelesscontroller design (on premise and/or cloud), wireless authentication and encryption (e.g. WPA, WPA2 (AES), WPA3, 802.1X authentication, PSK, captive portal, etc.)

Network Access Control
Secure Segmentation
802.1X and AAA service
The ability to plan and execute complex projects
Proficiency in reading and interpreting floor plans and technical drawings and specifications
Experience in project completion and handover of infrastructure projects
