Main Purpose:
Ensure that platform pedestal crane maintenance is effectively managed and undertaken to the highest standard. Maximising crane up time to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Take a proactive approach to maintaining and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the platform cranes.
- Take an active role in the review the client's maintenance management system (Maximo) to identify and help coordinate up and coming planned maintenance activities.
- Ensure that materials and equipment have been identified and that platform support services are requested and in place prior to applicable workscopes commencing.
- Carry out regular mechanical maintenance routines, from daily checks through to major planned maintenance on all cranes.
- Help lead flying squad personnel for major maintenance activities and perform the role of supervisor when required to do so.
- Identify and log crane defects and raise corrective work orders in clients Maximo system in a prompt manner.
- Identifying and order the correct materials required to affect any repair workscope.
- Track the work order progress in Maximo and on completion update Maximo history with findings, etc and close out.
- Regularly liaise with Sparrows Contract Support Engineer to discuss and plan crane maintenance activities
- Provide end of trip handover to backtoback mechanic
- Provide end of trip summary report to Contract Support Engineer, identifying workscopes undertaken, outstanding, defects, etc, specifying applicable SAP work order numbers.
Skills / Qualifications:
- BOSIET/FOET
- CAEBS
- MIST
- WAH
- Recognised Trade Apprenticeship in Mechanical Maintenance
- Advantageous to hold certification in Mechanical NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
- Experience in the completion of planned maintenance activities on offshore cranes
- Experience in the completion of fault finding and repair of offshore cranes
- The ability to read technical drawings and converse on a technical level with onshore support staff.
- Be computer literate with the ability to complete and submit accurate trip reports

HSEQ Responsibilities:
It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Sparrows Integrated Management System.
The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.
The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them.
