The Purpose:


As part of the Skills Lab team you will play a vital role in supporting young people through the delivery of our immersive character enrichment workshops for young people from around the world.


To support the strategic growth of the Skills Lab department and its in-demand character enrichments workshops we are seeking a casual Skills Lab Officer to join our team.

Opportunities to support weekday (Monday-Friday during in peak delivery times) and/or weekend delivery (Saturday & Sunday).


The Role:


  • Facilitate engaging and interactive character education workshops and activities within the Skills Lab, tailored to the individual needs and interests of young participants.
  • Develop and deliver innovative curriculum content that aligns with the Skills Lab vision of empowering young people to fulfil their potential.
  • Cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all individuals feel valued and empowered.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute special events, projects, and initiatives that enhance the impact and reach of the Skills Lab programme.
  • Maintain accurate records of participant progress and feedback, using data to inform programme improvements and adjustments as needed.
  • Uphold the values and ethos of the Manchester United Foundation, promoting positive behaviour, and inclusivity at all times.
  • Act as a positive role model for young people, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and integrity in all interactions.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional development to enhance effectiveness in the role and contribute to the overall success of the Skills Lab programme.

The Person:

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • Demonstrated academic achievement in secondary and/or further education.
  • Innovating and driving personal development with a commitment to excellence.
  • Working effectively with sizable groups of young individuals.
  • Conducting workshops within an educational setting.
  • Strong functional skills in Mathematics and English.
  • Current UK driving license.
Desirable

  • Mental Health First Aid certification.
  • Additional sports coaching qualifications.
  • Qualification in youth work.
  • Familiarity with the national curriculum and character education.
  • Experience working within an education/academic environment.
