Fantastic opportunity to join a highly successful chemical business in a senior Engineering role.

Following internal promotion and another year of record sales, the organisation seeks to bolster their engineering function with the recruitment of a ProcessDevelopment Engineer.

It is likely you will have cut your teeth in a Maintenance role but be keen to showcase your process improvement skills and machine development capability.

The role is Monday to Friday with no on call rota and multiple new projects onthe horizon. The business is incredibly agile and always seeking new product lines and areas to invest.

This is a business that really is recession proof and has never had to restructure or downsize, quite the opposite Their staff are well developed and are constantly reviewed for further training.

The facilities are cutting edge with no corners cut.


Purpose of Position:


  • Design and develop new processes, identify current process improvements. Think outside the box to find / develop solutions.
  • Maintain support for current process equipment. Be reactive and proactive towards the daily maintenance schedules

Directly Reporting to:


  • Engineering & Process Manager

Knowledge & Experience:


  • Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering

Previous job skills to include:

  • Production environment exposure
  • Process control and improvement
  • New product integration

Mechanical ability to include:


  • Knowledge of motors and gearboxes
  • Pumps and filtration systems
  • Pistons and hydraulics

Electrical ability to include:


  • PLC ability to connect analyse and edit and programmes
  • 3 phase 415vac
  • Single phase 110/120 vac
  • Low voltage DC
  • Digital and analogue circuit technology

Fabrication skills to include:


  • Use of mill and lathe
  • Basic welding skills
  • Make and manufacture small parts and structures
  • Working with metal and plastics
