The Opportunity:

A superb opportunity for an experienced Buyer who enjoys dealing with all aspects of purchasing.

Working within this busy manufacturing environment, your buying responsibilities will include sourcing of new suppliers, contract negotiation, expediting and ensuring stock availability to allow production to be optimised.

You will need to be computer literate with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (in particular Excel ) and POP systems.

The role will involve some international and domestic travel.

Responsibilities:

All direct and some indirect procurement, against a specified supplier portfolio, to support forecasted sales through Sage Inventory Advisor, ensuring cost targets are met and inventory levels managed within agreed levels

Managingthe following functions against specified supplier portfolio:
Supply chain risk analysis and development of alternative supplier strategies
Delivering targeted savings
Improving aspects of supplier delivery performance (OTIF) with actions to be developed to rectify any shortfalls
Improving quality performance again with action plans to be developed to rectify and resolve root causes
Identification and assessment and development of highly competitive new sources, where required
Working closely with R&D & the Engineering team to co-ordinate and drive forward NPD, including early supplier involvement, cost estimation, value engineering, process optimisation, material selection
Production and capacity planning of strategic suppliers, including cost effective and timely delivery of all free issued parts, in line with forecast demand and inventory levels
Effective contract development, negotiation, review and implementation
Responsible for the expediting of all purchase orders, ensuring all delivery dates are adhered to

Preferred Skills:
Evidence of purchasing aesthetically pleasing products / components
Proven track record of purchasing services and supplies.
