Job description

  • About the Role:

A vacancy has arisen in the Revenues Team of the Mid Kent Revenues and Benefits Partnership for a conscientious, motivated individual to deal with the administration and recovery of Council Tax for both Maidstone Borough Council and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.

The Revenues Team deals with high volumes of correspondence which needs to be turned around within the corporate timescales.

This post deals with billing matters (including the issuing of bills, actioning moves, awarding discounts, exemptions and maintaining local taxation records) and the recovery and enforcement of debts following the Magistrates' Court hearing.

The Council considers this to be a customer focused role and the ability to converse at ease with customers adapting communication style to suit differing audiences and provide advice in accurate spoken English is fundamental to the role.

This is a full-time position on a permanent contract.
