The Finance team are responding to the needs of our changing organisation by ensuring our systems, processes and support are appropriate for our stakeholders.

There are several projects that the Finance team will implement during 2024 to enable and support the ambitions of Versus Arthritis.


We are looking for an experienced Finance System Administrator for a fixed term of 12 months to support the maintenance and development of our Finance & Procurement software systems and associated processes and support systems administration for future financial software implementations.


About the role

In this role you will be:

  • Configuring and setting up our ERP systems (including Dynamics GP, SAP Concur, Compleat and ThankQ).
  • Managing user set up, access and financial controls within different systems.
  • Working with underlying systems technology such as SQL (for database query), Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and Excel Query Editor) and the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform.
  • Collaborating with finance, IT teams and external vendors to identify areas for process improvement, process automation and system optimisation.
  • Monitoring the daily performance of finance systems via system maintenance reports.
  • Overseeing data imports, exports, and data integrity within finance systems.
  • Designing and scoping reports and dashboards.
  • Ensuring financial compliance and governance, including managing data security, GDPR, implementing security controls and protecting sensitive financial data.
  • Troubleshooting financial system issues.
  • Assisting with monthly reconciliations, resolution of control accounts, budgeting and forecasting and providing audit support.
  • Providing enduser training on using our finance systems effectively.

About you
If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we'd love to hear from you:

  • Experience working within an accounting environment including integrating finance systems with other in-house systems and the development of financial reporting systems, procedures and controls.
  • Excellent information technology skills including advanced Excel and a good understanding of databases, data uploads, extraction, and interfaces with other systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (written, visual and verbal) including the ability to explain complex ideas and principles to a wide range of audiences.
  • The ability to identify inefficiencies, suggest and implement innovative solutions, understand customer needs and adapt service levels to take account of practicalities.
  • Excellent teamwork skills including contributing proactively and supportively to team initiative delivery and change management processes.
  • A qualified or part qualified (CPA/CIMA/ACCA) accountant with a working knowledge of VAT legislation in charities would also be desirable.
