Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within ENABLE Scotland by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support.

No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is thatyou will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes - whatever they may be


Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.


ENABLE Scotland creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

Jamie:

Jamie is a young man that is moving into his own home, he is looking for people to join his team who are motivated, determined and confident to help him achieve his goals and live a life he chooses.

Jamie enjoys going to the park for long walks and adventures,swimming, bowling and museums.
He has many interests and will give things a try even if it is just once. Some of his interests include enjoying music and will participating in musical activities. He also enjoys sensory and messy play, arts and crafts andbaking and cooking.

He likes going to large soft play areas and jumping on the trampoline and also likes the sensory feel of water.

Jamie is also very good with animals. Jamie requires support with all aspects of his care including personal care and household tasks.
He also requires support to maintain his health and wellbeing including management of his diabetes.

Sadly, it's not always possible for Jamie to enjoy what many people would consider these 'simple pleasures' without proper, dedicated support.
