We are delighted to be able to offer an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of family based interventions and systemic psychotherapy within the Cardiff and Vale Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Care Group.

The successful applicant will be joining an established team of family therapists, at an exciting time in the development of the family therapy service and wider delivery of mental health and emotional wellbeing services in Cardiff and the Vale.

The post is permanent, and 30 hours per week, so there is flexibility on how the hours are configured. The service also operates a hybrid model of in person and virtual working.


You would be joining a supportive and friendly team, and we encourage those with various experience to apply, as the service is keen to support and develop the workforce over time.

The role will be situated within the Core CAMHS Team.

Working with the Senior Family Therapy Team, and the wider mutli-disciplinary team, you will provide specialist psychological and therapeutic interventions and systemic assessments.

The post holder will also contribute to formulation and diagnosis of common mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties in children, young people and families, and the wider delivery of care.


As a systemic psychotherapist/family therapist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user caseload, including assessing service users with complex needs, supporting families with care planning and designing and delivering specialist psychological interventions within child and adolescent emotional wellbeing settings and services.


Care co-ordination, consultation, and supporting other members of the multi-disciplinary team will be key aspects of the role, as well as partnership working with health, education and social care.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
