Semi Skilled Welder/Fabricator

Dorrington

Salary:
£12.00 per hour depending on experience.


Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 4.45 pm, with 45 minutes for lunch (unpaid) i.e. 40 hours per week.


An opportunity has arisen to join the business as a Semi Skilled Welder/Fabricator at Bulkrite, to carry out the fabrication and construction of commercial vehicle bodies.


Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Utilise MIG and TIG welding techniques to weld various materials, such as aluminium and steel.
  • Form sections and panels through the use of press brakes.
  • Assist in the final assembly of new bodies to vehicle chassis.
  • Perform repairs on existing vehicle bodies and structures.
  • Assist in the fitting of repaired vehicle components, including tipping gears and hydraulic equipment.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in line with Health and Safety legislation.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in fabrication, manufacturing, machinery or workshop settings would be advantageous.
  • Good dexterity and coordination.
  • Ability and willingness to learn processes and techniques in a handson environment.
  • An interest in commercial bodybuilding, such as tippers and commercial bodies.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent health and safety awareness.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Good time management skills.
