HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER OPPORTUNITY (MANAFACTURING BACKGROUND)

Our client is a market leading food packaging company in the Stockton area. Client has been a market leading company within their sector for the last 30 years. They proudly provide packaging solutions to supermarkets, multi-national food manufacturers, foodserviceand fresh produce companies across the UK.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN YOUR ROL
- Responsible for ensuring that Health & Safety standards are applied in all production areas in accordance with policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Developing and leading in programmes to ensure conformity to all Health & Safety regulations.
- Maintaining all associated current and future regulatory authorisations across all sites.
- Maintaining compliance to all current and future standards of health and safety and ensuring all sites conform to the systems.
- Developing and delivering materials for all health and safety related training in collaboration with the Training Coordinator
- Liaising with compliance manager on a continuous basis
- Preparing annual report for Board of Directors covering all aspects of health and safety matters.
- Organising Management Reviews and Company Monthly Safety Meetings.
- Contributing to risk assessments across sites.
- It is your duty to issue safety information to production personnel and talking through requirements for more complicated or hazardous procedures.
- You will be tasked with encouraging, reporting and also investigating incidents or nearmisses.
- It is your duty to monitor Accident Books and PTW system
- You will be tasked with maintaining central material safety data sheet files.
- You will be tasked with issuing more specialised P.P.E. equipment and recording and ensuring correct use
- It is your duty to monitor and organise regular inspections, audits, checks and testing on all health and safety systems.
- You will be tasked with keeping up to date with new/changing legislation/regulation relating to health and safety matters.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED
- A background in a manufacturing environment
- NEBOSH qualified
- An Environmental qualification would be advantageous albeit not mandatory
- Have a keen interest in the law and have the knowledge to understand legislation
- Negotiating Skills
- Have a patient and diplomatic mindset
