RSR Justice are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Coventry for a Training Officer to take responsibility of creating, amending and delivering training to staff and other organisations in specialist areas.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months, working part time (20 hours per week) and offers a salary of £25,000 per annum


Main Duties:


  • Identify learning and development needs of designated staff and contribute to the services' learning and development plan.
  • Develop inclusive learning and development activities to meet quality standards and the services' learning and development plan.
  • Facilitate inclusive group and / or onetoone learning and development activities.
  • Organise internal and external learning and development activities to ensure the competence and continuing development of designated staff.
  • Coordinate assessment activities and make final decisions on competence.
  • Provide an appropriate level of support and supervision to individual workers depending on their level of competence.
  • Keep up to date with research and campaigns issues and ensure research and campaigns is promoted and integrated in a way relevant to the role.
  • Develop and maintain effective admin systems and records relevant to the role.
  • Monitor and evaluate activities appropriate to the role and contribute to the bureau planning process by providing regular reports and feedback on the areas of responsibility.
  • Attend regular internal and external meetings relevant to the role.
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues and encourage good teamwork, clear lines of communication and common practices within the service team.
  • Participate in any training either external or internal as requested by the Team Leaders/Line Manager and to attend regular supervision sessions.
  • Take responsibility for the continuing professional development of self and others in keeping abreast of the issues.
  • Carry out typing, filing and other administrative tasks necessary to fill the role.
  • Take responsibility for identifying and bringing to the attention any opportunities and/or gaps whereby the service it provides to service users can be improved.

Essential Requirements:


  • 2 or more A Levels or other relevant workrelated qualification at NVQ level 3 or above.
  • Experience in delivering training programmes in group and 1:1 settings.
  • Appropriate training or teaching qualification or relevant experience.
  • Experience in training people to deliver advice services.
  • Proven ability to give and receive feedback objectively and sensitively and a willingness to challenge constructively.
  • Proven ability to manage / supervise others, including ability to recruit, develop and motivate staff.
  • Ability to supervise and monitor advice work and to maintain casework systems and procedures.
  • Ability to monitor and maintain recording systems and procedures.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
