MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Fantastic opportunity to join our growing team.

The Hub is a Yeovil charity that provides support and training to empower the lives of people living with learning disabilities and autism, helping each individual achieve their own personal independence, support their community and work together, beyond disability.

The
Work Coach provides highly visible and effective delivery of all enrichment and social activities.

An experienced practitioner of services for people with autism and learning disabilities, who is capable of maintaining the highest standards of service and personal outcomes for trainees that exemplify the charity's expectations.

The
Work Coach will ensure every trainee receives a positive, enjoyable and meaningful experience at the hub by supporting trainees with skills for life and helping them reach their full potential.

The occasional overtime shift, agreed in advance, will be required for fundraising or specialist events.


Responsibilities

  • To support trainees to develop skills for life and help them reach their full potential.
  • To support, facilitate and maintain the delivery of high quality sessions ensuring each trainees experience is meaningful and impactful in line with trainees goals and personal development.
  • To ensure trainee's needs are met at all times and support other staff members according to the work required and our trainee's personal needs.
  • To work with the work coaching team to plan, develop and deliver activities and sessions for trainees in line with the timetable
  • To work in conjunction with the management team to broaden the range of activities and programmes including offsite provision and community engagement/involvement projects.
  • To support trainees to engage in meaningful vocational activities and, where appropriate, employment.
  • To ensure trainees can work to their best ability, challenging them appropriately when required to do so, to promote their learning and their acquisition of new skills.
  • To work as part of a team that is always open, honest and supportive of each other.

Requirements:


  • Practical knowledge of young people and adults with learning disabilities and difficulties.
  • To plan activities in the social enterprises that are differentiated to every trainee's abilities.
  • Ability to plan sessions recognising the tasks to be achieved and the trainee's ability levels to contribute in a meaningful way.
  • Ability to reflect and strive to improve the way you work and to develop your skills.
  • Full driving licence

We expect you:


  • To perform your role to the best of your ability;
  • To follow the charity's policies & procedures and standards, including Safeguarding, Health and Safety, and Equality and Diversity, in relation to its staff, trainees, volunteers and customers.
  • To maintain the confidential information of the charity and its users at all times and not disclose this information except where required to do so by law or by instruction of senior management.
  • To be aware of the importance of safeguarding policies and procedures and to always discuss with a colleague any safeguarding concerns.
  • To offer First Aid if trained, transport and personal care if required to do so.

Salary:
£23,338.00 per year
