Grade UE06:
£31,396.00 to £36,024.00 Per Annum, Pro Rata (A revised salary range for this grade of £32,982 to £38,205 per annum pro-rata is planned to take effect from Spring 2024).


College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences / Centre for Open Learning and the Moray House School of Education & Sport.

Part time, Guaranteed Hours hrs/week).

Fixed Term Contract (April 2024-July 2024).


We are looking for a part-time Learning Technologist to join our Learning Technology team at Holyrood Campus who serves both The Centre for Open Learning and the Moray House School of Education & Sport.

This post is advertised as part-time (10 to 20 hours per week).
A total of 175 hours will be offered as part of the guaranteed hours contract.

We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.


The Opportunity:


The post holder will provide pedagogic, technical and practical advice, guidance and support to academic and professional services staff on the use and development of technology enhanced learning tools for the delivery and development of teaching and learning.

The Learning Technologist will provide ongoing support, encouragement and dissemination of good practice as well as carrying out project-based work on specific course and programme developments.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Proven experience in supporting users to make the most of the capabilities of the VLEs such as Learn Ultra, Canvas or similar, and in the use of eLearning tools, such as blogs, wikis, collaboration tools, within a pedagogical framework.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate with students and staff with a wide range of technical expertise.
  • Experience of organising and running staff development training (onetoone and group), writing documentation and giving presentations.
  • Ability to identify, prioritise, plan and manage work independently without direct supervision, and flexibility to accommodate peaks and ad hoc changes in workload.
