Due to significant growth, Trackwork is looking for a dedicated Break Press Setter to take responsibility for providing exceptional support to stakeholders and the team.

This role involves working as part of our Production Team to deliver high quality components, mainly for the rail industries, with a right first-time philosophy.

This role is a day shift and will be based at our Wallasey Site.

Rates of pay start at £ £15.00 per hour depending on experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Change tolling to suit metal and bend needs.
  • Programme CNC Break Press.
  • Read engineering drawings.
  • Quality check work.
  • Primary role to set and operate an Ermaksan 400 ton Brake Press.
  • Providing support on smaller Amada Promecam Brake Press and a range of mechanical power presses.
  • Interpretation of drawings for programming of CNC press brake to enable the fabrication of folded components.
  • Responsible for quality, quantity and inspection of work performed.
  • Construct detailed multifold programs to develop parts to match drawings.
  • Operate press brake on existent programs, continuously improving them.
  • Select the correct punches and dies for material spec/design radii and drawing requirements.
  • Keep work area, including tools, machine surfaces clean at all times.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Experienced to set and operate an Ermaksan 400 ton Brake Press or experience with other similar types of brake press and control systems or transferable skills.
  • Ideally come from an engineering background with a NVQ or BTEC however not essential.
  • Attention to detail and working precisely.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Worked within the railway industry sector within a manufacturing background, working with material ranging from 1.0 mm to 20 mm thickness and parts up to 3 metres in length.
  • Must be able to interpret technical drawings and use hand held inspection equipment such as height gauges, vernier calliper's, micrometers and depth micrometers.
