Role Purpose:


To undertake the viewing/processing of offences detected by camera or other Road Traffic offences generated by Police Officers/Members of the public.

To complete the preparation of prosecution files where necessary.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Record and process all notices dealt with by this department using the appropriate computer software packages.
  • Complete opening, scanning and verification of incoming correspondence received by Safety Cameras and Ticket Processing on the appropriate systems.
  • Undertake Verification duties, paying a high level of attention to detail when processing incoming responses to offences by validating the data provided.
  • To expedite additional evidence gathering as required enabling offences to be dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Deal with both external and internal telephone calls in a polite, professional manner resolving any issues that arise.
  • Deal with correspondence by communicating with members of the public, Police colleagues, Magistrates Court staff and partner agencies, using templates attached to software packages
  • To prepare prosecution files for Magistrates Court ensuring the quality is of a high standard and analysing the quality of evidential content in accordance with Manual Of Guidance.
  • General administration/clerical tasks including post duties, filing, photocopying and scanning documents.
  • Staff the reception area, this role includes welcoming visitors, contractors and suppliers.
  • Any other duties/tasks commensurate with the grading of the post.

Skills and experience:


  • Clerical/Administrative experience in a busy, fast paced office environment.
  • Experience of Windows based computer systems.
  • Ability to deal with confidential information and record data accurately.
  • Be able to demonstrate investigative skills.
