Description

Our client based in Hereford is looking for a Warehouse Manager to be responsible for managing the Warehouse Distribution, Goods In and inventory management process.

The client is a well-established brand in the Herefordshire area, offering a great workculture as well as an attractive salary.

You will be involved in stock control inventory accuracy, warehouse optimization, transport within the framework of legislation, costing and environmental pressures.


You will be responsible but not limited to the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Accountable for real-time data collection and increase inventory movement accuracy and improvement efficiency.

  • Operating practices, process, and layout improvements for the warehouse operations.
  • Manage the warehouse staff on all elements of people management
  • Overall responsibility for preparing and managing the logistics budget, determining staffing levels and expenses.
  • Responsible for ensuring KPI's are met and exceeded
  • Reports daily on performance with root cause analysis.
  • Oversees computerized administration and stock inventory accuracy
  • Using J D Edwards, ERP System.
  • Manage the daily cycle count process and implement initiatives to continually improve stock accuracy
  • Ensure a process driven system in accordance with the client's accreditation
  • Ensure the quality and quantity of goods dispatched is compliant with customer delivery specifications and due dates.
  • Ensure compliance with import and export processes.
  • Plan and oversee outgoing and incoming deliveries with freight providers.
  • Consistently monitor the quality and efficiency of goods storage and transportation.
  • Enforces industry regulations, compliance checks and GB Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety Policies and make recommendations for and implement improvements.
  • Assist the Supply Chain Manager with negotiations and managing contracts with suppliers within the area of responsibility, to include freight contracts, forklift supply, and motor fleet, in line with the budget.
Responsible for arranging vehicle servicesand general repairs in line with vehicle contracts.


Skills and Qualifications required:


  • Relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management (preferred to Degree standard).
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Warehouse and inventory management.
  • Proven ability in cost reduction, process flow and warehouse management projects and managing budgets.
  • Experience in Warehouse systems integration.
  • Experience in supply to customer
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with team building
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly Organised
  • Ability to interact and effectively communicate at all levels within the business.
  • PC literate, experience in computerised ERP system (JD Edwards preferred).
  • Current driving licence
  • Willing to undergo DBS (previously CRB) check, if required for the role.
