Job overview


As an Analytical Lead for the Trust the post holder will be responsible for undertaking detailed analysis of large and complex data sets, using a wide range of tools and techniques as required, to support the Trusts strategic and operational objectives through the provision of consistent, high quality analytical services and cost-effective reporting systems.


The post holder will provide expert advice for the Trust on statistical and analytical approaches to management information and promote the use of intelligent information across the Trust.


With excellent communication skills the post holder will be experienced in displaying and communicating complex information in an easy-to-understand format and form effective working relationships with colleagues across the Trust and wider health economy.

Main duties of the job


Some of the core responsibilities include:
Provide analytical and statistical expertise across a range of systems and projects, including 999 call level data.

Undertake high level and detailed analysis to meet local, regional, and national reporting requirements.


To develop key relationships with Senior Management and key partners to provide highly complex and sensitive information, obtaining organisational understanding (and where relevant buy-in), using the highest level of interpersonal and communication skills.


Analyse data for a wide range of clients, determining the best form for communicating/presenting the information, from simple to highly complex and ensuring that the presentation is relevant, comprehensible and within agreed timescales.

Person specification

Essential criteria

Significant experience in an analytical role and providing an advanced statistical analysis.

Advanced experience of using data interrogation tools including advanced SQL, Power BI, Excel

Experience in identifying and resolving complex data problems.

Demonstrable experience using analytical and statistical techniques to support performance management and service improvement.


Strong inter-personal skills with the ability to explain and present reports to a wide-ranging audience - including explain statistical and analytical approaches in an easy-to-understand way.

Ability and experience of managing tight and competing deadlines.
