I am working with a fantastic provision in East London who work with KS1 & KS2 students with Social, Emotional, and mild mental health difficulties.
They offer short term support and care to these young people in hope of finding long term resolutions totheir triggers and escalators.
Most students are successfully reintegrated to a mainstream school, which shows how effective the provisions methods are.Have you worked with young people who show challenging behaviour in the past? Are you able to build good relationships with young people? Are you able to establish rapport, whilst maintaining respect and professionalism?
These are all key skills in working within an Alternative Provision. You must also be able to support confidently in Literacy, Numeracy, and Science to KS2. Whilst the school is focusing on emotional support and social development. It is imperative to maintainthe learning levels of these students for when they do return to mainstream.
