We have an exciting opportunity to expand our team of Midday Supervisory Assistants.

Lunchtime is an important part of every pupil's day and should be something they look forward to It is their opportunity to explore their friendships and develop social skills as well as enjoying a meal with their peers.

We recognise that the role our MSAs play in supporting our pupils at lunchtime is crucial in ensuring every pupil has a positive experience, has fun and is then able to feel relaxed and ready to learn for their afternoon lessons.

We are looking for a positive, inspirational person who is passionate about ensuring our children have an enjoyable lunchtime experience to join our team to cover as and when needed.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • supporting pupils to engage with play and social interaction, talking through their ideas, opinions and feelings
- supporting pupils with good table manners and to enjoy a nourishing lunch
- be a positive role model and consistently support pupils' growth and development of life skills
- promoting independence and resilience for every pupil
- ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils during the lunch break
- following school policies and procedures while in play areas or during wet play times in class
- following our covid risk assessment
- assisting to set up and tidy away for lunch time


We are looking for someone who:

  • can relate to children well and enjoys organising play activities to engage every child
- is well motivated with a calm manner
- has a positive attitude and is keen to help every pupil have an enjoyable lunchtime
- has the ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues
- holds positive mental health and wellbeing at the heart of all they do
- understands the integral part lunchtime plays in a pupil's school day


Swaffham CE Primary Academy is part of Diocese of Norwich Educational and Academies Trust (DNEAT). We are a friendly school situated in the growing market town of Swaffham and currently have 221 children on roll from Reception to Year 6. Ofsted recognised (March 2018) that we are a 'good' school.
