Description
We are a 46 bedded Nursing & Residential Care Home based in Barrow-in-Furness. As part of the ongoing development of our staff team we have created a new position of Staff Trainer.


This position will involve working an average of 35 hours per week & will be based with our Care Home.


The Main duties of this role are:

  • Provide in house staff training (Induction, Care Certificate, annual mandatory training & ongoing staff development)
  • Keeping track of each individuals' progress and using imaginative ways to support and encourage the team and to keep them engaged and on track.
  • Assist with the induction and training for new resident admissions.
  • Assess and evaluate staff with in the workplace setting in line with the Care Certificate and company competencies.
  • Understand the needs of the business to ensure legal compliance training is organised and delivered cost effectively.
  • Work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure thorough implementation and evaluation of the training programs.
  • Manage and maintain staff training information on a training database
  • Carrying out of spot checks, performance checks of carers within the workplace
  • Assist with & participate in the clinical supervision process
  • Experience of designing, developing and delivering training programs.
  • Certification in Moving and handling, train the trainer and level 3 award in training _OR_
  • A teaching qualification: PTTLS, AET Level 3 or higher teaching qualification
  • Have a good understanding of the Care Certificate and CQC standards
  • Minimum 1 year experience in the Health or Social Care sector, along with a proven track record in facilitating and delivery of training
  • Critical to the post is for you to be up to date with the latest legislation and legal requirements affecting the Company and the work we carry out.
  • Must be ICT literate with good presentation skills.
