Reporter to join the team.


We want someone who is passionate about Dublin and is hungry to find and report on the issues which matter most to our readers.

As well as covering breaking news and what's on, you will deliver exclusive off-diary stories written in a way that ensures as many people as possible see and respond to our work, helping us to have a positive impact on the communities we serve.


We're looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

This role is for a maternity cover and will be initially on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities

What will the role involve?

  • Find and tell stories about communities that engages as many readers as possible, and stories that will be of interest to a local audience and be skilled in breaking news scenarios
  • Build communities online and in real life to share stories with once published, and engaged with readers about those stories
  • Tell stories in many different ways, including (but not limited to) realtime live blogs, article format, video, audio and pictures
  • Ensure every piece of content is thoroughly researched and balanced prior to publication, in accordance with the Editor's Code of practice

This role includes weekend working, this will typically involve 1 weekend in every 4

Who are we looking for?

  • Digital publishing skills working a CMS, shooting video, taking pictures
  • Accomplished live blogger would be an advantage
  • Social media skills following on social media, track record of building communities on social media
  • Passion for digital storytelling
