You will join our Impact Assessment department

As our new Senior EIA Consultant you will be part of our UK Impact Assessment team, which forms part of our broader Global Impact Assessment Spearhead.

The Spearhead has been established to drive growth and specialisation in Impact Assessment, building on our existing successes through a continued focus on national impact assessment work, alongside targeting large, strategic projects - no matter where these occur, within our geographic strongholds or beyond.


As part of our EIA team, you will be part of an exciting team of experts, who respect each other and work towards a common goal.

You would regularly work alongside internal and external technical specialists with our in-house teams covering topics such as Air Quality, Noise and Vibration, Ecology, Biodiversity Net Gain, Landscape, Water Resources and Flood Risk, Ground Contamination, and Human Health.


Although the role would primarily be focused on property and urban regeneration projects, there would also be the opportunity to work on transport, infrastructure and renewable energy schemes.

Our property and urban regeneration teams are currently working on some of the largest masterplan schemes in the UK and get involved from the early feasibility stage through to planning submission and planning condition discharge.

Our clients include UK and global multinationals, utilities, property developers, local and central government and international institutions.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Client and project team liaison
  • Attendance at client and stakeholder meetings and public consultations
  • Report writing, drafting of ES chapters and reviewing of technical reports
  • Coordination and management of the EIA process and preparation of the ES
  • Contribute to work winning, business development and proposal writing
  • Budget management
  • Coaching/ mentoring junior staff

For this role, we believe your starting point is:


  • Appropriate degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering or a related discipline
  • Master's degree in a related discipline (advantageous)
  • Prior EIA project management experience on complex projects (advantageous)
  • Full clean driving licence
Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with strong report writing skills.
  • Ability to work successfully across the business and with internal and external subconsultants in the delivery of a consistent EIA approach and ES reporting style.
  • Well organised and able to prioritise your own workload with mínimal supervision and manage the team in completing high quality reports and documents to meet programme requirements.
  • Experience of being client facing, including managing and developing client relationships and contributing to business development would be a benefit.
  • Competent in use of Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, Project and Powerpoint).
  • Experience of GIS software would be beneficial.
