Job Summary

Background

We're building a strong Group centre in Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing (CABM) to support the Bank's strategy and aspirations and deliver a step change in our communications outcomes.

We're doing this by bringing together the specialist teams that protectand strengthen our global brand, reputation and culture, and one of these teams is our new Story Lab.

The Story Lab will produce creative and compelling global content, working closely with our Digital Channels team to drive positive engagement with our clients, colleagues and corporate stakeholders across owned and earned channels.

Together, the two teamswill form an 'integrated storytelling engine' at the heart of the Bank, collaborating with our Data & Insights team to measure and optimise content performance against CABM objectives.


Overview

The Web Editor, Story Lab, will be responsible for delivery of the Bank's global narrative and content to clients, colleagues and external stakeholders through our corporate website.

This role will be crucial to how we tell the Bank's story, ensuring that ourbusiness strategy and messages are reflected across our website 'hero' content.

An exceptionally creative and enthusiastic individual, with strong editorial and journalistic skills, the Web Editor, Story Lab will drive up engagement with our corporate website, working with the broader team to ensure we deliver on our objective of integratedstorytelling, increasing awareness of, and consideration for, Standard Chartered's global brand.


Responsibilities

Strategy:


  • Develop an effective strategy to ensure a twoway exchange of website storytelling between Group and regional/country CABM teams and website managers
  • Advise senior Bank stakeholders on effective website editorial strategy, championing best practice and innovation

Business:


  • Create, edit and publish content, using the Banks content management system
  • Work with Digital Channels to ensure technical issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with website stakeholders across CABM, including Group, regional and country teams, to make the most of hero content opportunities
  • Deliver against Story Lab objectives and key results (OKRs), and help to deliver against Group Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing (CABM) OKRs
  • Work with external partners and agencies to drive excellence in website editorial strategy and management

Processes:


  • Work collaboratively across CABM teams and the wider Bank to ensure a consistent, joined up approach to storytelling on our corporate website
  • With the Digital Channels team, develop an effective content planning and traffic management framework for the website
  • Work with the Head of Global Content and Editorial Planning and the Global Head of Digital Channels Ensure to ensure Story Lab has access to an effective framework of content agency support for the website

People & Talent:


  • Engage in continuous learning and take every opportunity to explore latest digital content trends in the financial sector and beyond, in order to understand what 'good' looks like for a corporate website
  • Play a role in ensuring that Story Lab becomes a smoothrunning, highperforming team
  • Coach and upskill colleagues across the broader Corporate Affairs & Brand team on website storytelling, ensuring a joinedup and consistent approach

Risk Management:


  • Lead on operational and reputational risk management in website content publishing, building and maintaining an effective governance framework and escalating as necessary

Governance:


  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, as well as the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role

Qualifications:


  • Background in journalism and/or PR and corporate communications, preferably in financial services
  • Strong organisational and editorial planning skills
  • Exceptional writing and creative skills
  • Experience of multiaudience, multichannel content marketing, across all content formats, particularly website content
  • Hands on experience of website content management systems and analytics tools
  • Audiencefocused and insightsled approach to content strategy
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Trustworthy, discreet, diplomatic and displays high integrity
  • Adept at exercising good judgment and 'doing the right thing'
  • Able to think fast and work quickly under pressure
