Summary of Position:


Our clients' vision is to be the recognised leader in positively impacting people's lives through intelligent design and they are looking for a Technical Designer to join their team.

The Technical Designer will facilitate the successful delivery of projectson site, via the production of construction drawings.


The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with the Pre-Contracts Manager and interior designer to 'detail' the project
  • Carry out detailed site surveys when necessary
  • Liaise with subcontractors and external designers, and steer conversations towards a buildable solution with design, timeline, and budget in mind
  • Set up site meetings with subcontractors and external designers
  • Propose solutions to technical design issues and create templated solutions/details from these
  • Produce construction packs to include, but not limited to the following drawings: GA, Settingout, RCP, Partitioning, MEP, Teapoint, Washroom, FFE, and Loose Furniture. Elevations would be expected where appropriate
  • Engage with Operations and other stakeholders to drive the construction pack production
  • Attend internal handover meetings between Pre-Contracts and Operations to support the handover of information
  • Provide ongoing support to Operations should drawings need to be tweaked
  • Produce 'as built' drawings for O+Ms
  • Report weekly to Pre-Contracts Manager
  • IT Literate, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and SketchUp
  • Previous experience and knowledge in the construction, fit out and refurbishment industry
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of Revit would be desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work well both in a team and independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and work with strict timescales, whilst successfully prioritising workload
  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in, and adapt to, a rapidly changing environment
  • A drive for time bound completion of tasks
  • Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and a positive attitude
