Actuarial Solutions Associate:
The Corporate Risk and Investment Solutions (CRIS) team was formed in 2021 in order to maximise M&G's competitive advantage as both asset owner (Insurer) and asset manager.
This includes:
- Developing, marketing and implementing derisking / covenant enhancement solutions involving insurance risk transfer for Defined Benefit pension schemes
- Coordinating strategy, building and advising on suitable product, ensuring best in class client service and developing new and existing business
Reporting to the Pricing Director, this role is focused on supporting various stakeholders within the CRIS team in pricing and structuring on-balance-sheetinsurance and risk transfer products.
However, commensurate with their experience, skill set, and interests they will be involved in diverse projects and have the opportunity to shape the development of their role as products are launched and the team grows.
Full study support will be included.Key Responsibilities for this role:
- Involvement in various aspects of pension risk transfer and onbalancesheet insurance product pricing, for different solutions and propositions
- Supporting the development of new propositions through building, testing and documenting models across the CRIS pricing infrastructure
- Working with colleagues from across the business and outsourcing partners to integrate commercial, pricing and structuring workstreams into all aspects of product development
- Supporting directors and senior stakeholders with technical analysis and ad hoc queries
- Supporting the team in ensuring that client deliverables are produced to a high technical standard
- Where of interest, working closely with the Distribution team to help develop relationships with clients, prospects and intermediaries
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Student actuary with up to three year's work experience, ideally in DB pensions consulting or bulk annuity pricing
- Experience in pension valuation techniques and data manipulation preferred
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with an interest in technical modelling
- Ambitious and selfmotivated, with ability to work on own initiative/prioritise workload to strict deadlines
- Good communication skill and the ability to understand and capture client needs
- Knowledge of Solvency II for life insurance beneficial but not essential
- Experience of VBA or actuarial modelling software beneficial
