We are delighted to have a range of support worker roles available at CAAS due to new funding. Although the role states home working as an option, this would be in the form of blended working.

There is an expectation that the postholder will spend at least two days per week in the offices in Eastcote and that they will be able to undertake face to face work with clients across Harrow.

Note the salary listed is a full time equivalent salary, so actual salary will vary depending on hours agreed.


ADHD/Autism Advisor/Support Worker Wanted:

CAAS is looking for a Family Support Worker and a Youth Support Worker to join our teams providing support to families and young people, pre or post
- diagnosis, in Harrow and Hillingdon.


Hours:
Family support role around 20 hours per week

Youth support role around 30 hours per week

Both role for initial 1 year fixed-term contract, potential to extend.

Additional project work may be available on an ad-hoc basis. Flexible hours, evening and weekend work may be required, and the work pattern may vary each week.

Full Job Descriptions can be found on our website, but key elements of both roles include
Facilitating a range of groups, courses and drop-in sessions, to provide ADHD/Autism specialist advice to families and encouraging peer support

Provide one-to-one ad hoc, tailored support for pre-and post-diagnosis (with the support to be co-produced by the service user).

Deliver and present ADHD and Autism training to professional organisations, including the reasonable adjustments and support that can be provided at an early stage

Map out existing services in Harrow and Hillingdon and signpost appropriately.

Build networks within the local authority, particularly health, social care, social prescribing and existing voluntary sector providers.

Participate in community outreach efforts, including attending SEND specific local events and developing relationships with a diverse range of community groups to increase our reach and broaden access to our services

Key Responsibilities - Organisational

  • To provide written reports as required by professional agencies and CAAS.
  • Assist in promoting the organisation's services.
  • To attend regular supervision sessions.
  • To ensure the monitoring requirements for the project are met.
  • To provide regular progress reports to the Service Manager.
  • To comply with such policies/procedures, guidelines and codes of practice as laid down by CAAS and the Law.
  • Person Specification - Essential
  • Knowledge of ADHD/autism
  • Experience in working with and providing support to families and young people
  • Experience/knowledge of the challenges facing families and neurodiverse young people.
  • Knowledge/awareness of reasonable adjustments, strategies, and coping mechanisms to support neurodiverse young people's needs.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with families who may find it difficult to access support.
  • Qualified facilitator / demonstratable experience in facilitating groups and delivering training.
  • Clear communication skills and an ability to represent the organisation internally and externally.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships with schools, local authorities, and other partner organisations.
  • Strong organisational skills with great time management. There is a heavy demand for the personal organisation of your workload and managing appointments, and you will need to be able to manage a diverse workload with competing demands
  • Ability to develop relationships with relevant statutory and voluntary sector bodies
  • Ability to monitor work.
  • The ability to write and present clear and comprehensive reports.
  • Computer Software Skilled (some of the work is managed via technology and computers)
  • Experience in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, data protection, equal opportunities and diversity legislation and best practice.e Skilled (much of the work is managed via technology and computers)
