Hales Group are seeking a Deputy Chief Finance Officer to manage the provision of professional financial services for our client.


You will deputise for the Chief Finance Officer as required, including exercising financial management responsibility for subsidiaries and partnerships, and will manage the Financial Planning Manager and Financial Compliance Manager to ensure the deliveryof the year end accounts, financial strategy and annual budget in accordance with statutory reporting requirements.

Principle Responsibilities - Deputy Chief Finance Officer;

  • Leadership of the Financial Services team, and directly line manage a team
  • Develop skills of the team; ensure all staff have the relevant skills, knowledge and qualifications to carry out their day to day activities.
  • Develop the strategic and operational financial management information systems, and lead the team in developing and implementing solutions
- ensure that the budgets and final accounts of our clients companies and partnerships are incorporated into the overall budgets and Statement of Accounts.
- deliver our clients Strategic Plan, lead and oversee the management of revenue aspects of the annual budget, and capital aspects of the annual budget

  • Deliver yearend closure and production of the statement of accounts, along with the narrative report and financial outturn report.
  • To advise senior officers on the financial implications of reports.
  • To prepare reports in respect of major areas of responsibility, and advise on the financial implications of reports.
Knowledge and Experience

  • Extensive experience and a proven track record in managing teams to deliver accounting services.
  • Local authority capital accounting, housing revenue account and collection fund.
  • Knowledge and experience of accounting principles, budgetary control, treasury management and local taxation.
  • Experience of successful, operational delivery within a changing environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Group Accounting requirements and statutory framework for local authority companies and partnerships.
Education and Training

  • CCAB qualified Accountant with post qualification experience, gained either in the public or private sector.
  • Evidence of production of statutory statements of accounts, budget preparation and management.

HOURS:
37 hours Monday to Friday


DURATION:
6 months minimum term


LOCATION:
Hybrid working


PAY RATE:
Variable depending on experience
